Twenty-five govtech startup companies presented their unique solutions before a panel of judges this week at the State of GovTech 2023 in Foster City, CA. The startups focused on public sector needs ranging from video authentication, utility data, document engagement, and public meeting management to public safety information and communications, criminal justice, sustainable waste solutions, and climate careers.
Judges representing government, investors, and other market stakeholders evaluated each company on criteria ranging from innovation and equity to growth potential, differentiation, and maturity.
All participating startups are being provided with a trial partner account for DocuSign e-Signature. The highest-scoring companies in each of the four pitch sessions were recognized at the event and will be showcased on an upcoming episode of Government Technology’s “In Case You Missed It” podcast.
This year’s four “standout startups” include Societal, Orijin, MedEx Forensics, and Terra.do.
The State of GovTech, produced in partnership between CivStart and e.Republic, underwritten by AWS, unites the ecosystem of local government innovation to assemble and discuss the latest innovation and technology trends, exchange best practices, network, and collaborate. Sponsors of this year’s event included Carahsoft, InState Partners, Verint, and DocuSign.
