Washington, DC - June 5, 2024 - CivStart, the nonprofit sparking innovation in local government, is thrilled to announce its partnership with the National League of Cities (NLC) to launch the CivStart Innovation Hub. This groundbreaking online platform will serve as a vital resource for local government leaders and innovators across the country, providing networking opportunities, resources, education, and more to drive innovation in government.
The CivStart Innovation Hub represents a collaborative effort between CivStart and NLC to address the critical need for a centralized hub where public and private-sector leaders can come together to shape the future of government. From innovative City Managers to civic-minded startup founders, the platform will facilitate connections and foster collaboration among individuals dedicated to advancing innovation in local government.
"We are excited to partner with the National League of Cities to launch the CivStart Innovation Hub," said Anthony Jamison, CEO at CivStart. "This platform will serve as a catalyst for innovation, bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders to drive positive change in communities across the country."
“This platform is going to fill an important need for local governments who need access to trusted, curated information and technologies in the rapidly-shifting world of government technology,” explained Dr. Peter Pirnejad, City Manager for Los Altos Hills.
“We’ve gained so much from the beta of the platform already as a startup,” said Roger Lin, Founder and CEO of govtech startup, Legislaide. “The curriculum has been really game-changing for us. Bringing a wider community together is going to unlock even more opportunities to connect and collaborate.”
The CivStart Innovation Hub will offer a wide range of resources and support for local government leaders, startup founders, investor, and industry and nonprofit experts. From networking events to educational curriculum, the platform will provide the tools and guidance needed to navigate the complexities of the government technology landscape — from any perspective.
"We are proud to bring our deep knowledge of city challenges and innovations to this exciting initiative with CivStart," said Brandon Natsuhara, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the National League of Cities. "By harnessing the collective expertise of both organizations, we can empower local government leaders and entrepreneurs to drive meaningful innovation in their communities."
The official launch of the CivStart Innovation Hub will take place at a virtual Launch Event on June 6th, 2023, at 3:00 PM ET. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the platform's vision, hear from govtech leaders across the ecosystem, and engage in community networking activities.
